CHRIS PAUL

Chris Paul was a star player at West Forsythe High School where he once scored 61 points in a game. He led his Kappa Magic AAU team to an 11th grade National Championship before moving on  to become an All-American at Wake Forest University.  He was a NBA first round draft choice of the New Orleans Hornets where he became an immediate star. He has been an NBA All-Star selection and he won an Olympic Gold medal 2012. Now playing for the Los Angeles Clippers he is considered one of the top point guards in the world.  Chris is also known for his community service and he has sponsored AAU teams back in his hometown of Winston Salem/Clemmons.

JERRY STACKHOUSE

Jerry Stackhouse came on the basketball scene as a freshman at Kinston High School. As a Junior he was the NC High School player of the year and led Kinston to the state finals. His AAU teams won State Championships his freshman and Junior years,  finishing as national tournament runner-up as a junior. As a freshman at UNC he was the MVP of the ACC tournament, and the next season became first team All-American as well as Sports Illustrated national player of the year. After a final four appearance his sophomore year (1995) he entered the NBA draft and was selected third by the Philadelphis 76ers.  Despite leaving college early, Jerry continued his studies and earned a bachelors degree from UNC in 1999. He played 18 seasons in the NBA with a 16.9 career scoring average.  He had the most points in the league in 2000-2001 and a 29.8 scoring average. Jerry was a first team All-rookie selection and a two-time NBA All-Star. One of 11 children born to George and Minnie Stackhouse, he maintains close ties to Kinston and NC while living in Atlanta.

KERRY SARGENT

Folks around Charlotte refer to Kerry Sargent as their own Coach K. For 25 years he has coached AAU basketball teams, and has left his mark on hundreds of players. Originally from Mississippi where he starred as a high school player, he has been employed by the city of Charlotte's Neighborhood and Business Services for 27 years. After a couple years as an assistant AAU coach he took over the head coach position of the Charlotte Nets 17u/ 11th grade team. He has remained a fixture there since. His numbers are impressive; 5 District Championships- 15 District medalist teams- 18 National Championship appearances- 6 National Championship medalist teams-and over 400 victories. In recent years he has served as volunteer assistant to the highly successful Mallard Creek HS girls basketball program.  Dozens of his AAU and High School players have gone on to play college basketball. Perhaps even more impressive is the respect and admiration he has earned from players, coaches, opponents, and administrators for his character and demeanor-as well as the guidance and support he has provided to the youth of the city.

The NCAAU is extremely proud to induct its 2013 Hall of Fame class; Chris Paul, Jerry Stackhouse and Kerry Sargent.
