After serving as a club officer for seven years, Jean was elected The NC District Registrar and Treasurer in 1990. She was a member of The National Board and Director for 15 years, - 2000-2014.

After 25 years of service Jean was selected to the National Volunteers Hall of Fame in 2014. Three times she was named the NC Volunteer of the year, and twice received The President’s Leadership Award. In 1997 she received the Arthur Carling Tower Award from The National Registration Committee. She later served as National Registration Chair for eight years.

Jean was awarded The Outstanding Volunteer Award from the 20th Jr. Olympic Games and was also The National Girls Basketball Volunteer of the year in 1999.

Jean resides in Greensboro. She still serves as a member of the AAU Congress and consults with the NCAA on district matters.
