INDUCTED 2013

From Kinston NC, Jerry Stackhouse led Kinston High to the state championships and was named NC player of the year. He played AAU basketball for the Raleigh Rockets, and the Charlotte Sonics, and reached the National Finals after his Junior Season.

Jerry attended UNC where he played for Dean Smith. As a sophomore he led the team in scoring and led the team to the Final Four. He was named all ACC, All American, and Sports Illustrated National Player of the year.

Jerry entered the NBA in 1995 and played with Philadelphia, Detroit, Washington, Dallas, Milwaukee, Miami, Atlanta, and Brooklyn. In 2001 he had the highest point total in the NBA, (29.8), Jerry played in 1045 NBA games and scored 17, 376 points.

He played in two All-Star games. His highest scoring average was 29.8 in 2014 with Detroit. Jerry was the G-League League Coach of the year in 2017 and has a bright coaching future.

Jerry retired after 18 seasons in the NBA and is now an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies.
