North Carolina teams turned in outstanding performances in the AAU National Championships in July. Twenty-four teams captured National medals, and three of them came away with gold medals and National Championships.
The Greensboro event was especially great for NC Teams. One hundred teams competed at the Greensboro coliseum, in 3 divisions-13/U D1, 13/U D2, and 7th grade.
Team United from Charlotte won the D1 championship and did so in thrilling fashion. Trailing by 14 with 3 minutes remaining, the team stormed back in the championship game and won on a buzzer beater.
CP3, another Charlotte based squad, dominating through the week to the 7th grade championship.
NC Red Storm finished 7th and Bull City Nets 12th in division 1. In Division 2 team United (Black) was 7th and team Thrill from Durham was 12th.
The Old North State locked up another National Championship in the 17/U DI event in Orlando. NC team Loaded, also out of Charlotte, joined the charlotte Royals and Kappa Magic as NC teams winning 17/U Nationals.

Several teams from NC won medals in the AAU Super Showcase including; Carolina Pressure 17/U, Charlotte Royals 17/U, Charlotte Jets 17/U and Team Felton 16/U.
